Emergency Relief offers international relief aid for
impoverished disaster-struck communities, such as
those suffering from earthquakes, hurricanes or famine.
WER
offers disaster-struck communities three different
kinds of aid relief.
- Emergency
relief addresses basic needs in the first month
after a disaster, like ‘giving a man a fish to eat.'
WER's
emergency relief is primarily practical aid in the
form of Gifts-In-Kind such as food, clothing and
medical supplies.
- Sustained
aid occurs after 45-60 days, when supply pipelines
are reasonably restored.
-
Development normalizes and improves communities,
which involves sustainability programs like ‘teaching
people to fish'.
